I’ve been paid to write about computers and sensors, make graphs etc.. But this is the first thing that has ever been peer reviewed. Here I was given a chance to, “tell it like it is”, to some out of touch scientists! Joking aside, there is some things about science that I very much dislike. The machinery around science, it becomes a sluggish, self serving beast.. just like anything else. Here is an effort to spark some debate, maybe help get the show on the road. Would be nice to get some answers.. you know, in this life time.

Very intriguing article! As you said: as scientist we only look at the harmful consequences of AD and try to find out how to minimize it. But as someone loving sports and outdoors I can definitely see how you would like to take advantage to be able to continue climbing. Don’t we all take risks while taking part in sports… and especially in outdoor sports?
But you are right in seeking more information in mechanisms and finding a way to make it safer.
Hmm difficult material…
Thanks, I enjoyed your article and it does make me think..

Good… go tell all your friends to think about it too!
AD is not to be feared, and we can’t understand it without studding it directly. Meaning, we need to induce it in the lab(s).
Thanks,
Brad
